📝 Discussion topic : 'Should exams be abolished?'
Arguments for abolishing exams :
• They create enormous stress and anxiety for students.
• They measure memorisation, not true understanding or creativity.
• A bad exam result can destroy a student's confidence and future opportunities.
Arguments against abolishing exams :
• Exams provide a fair, objective way to assess all students equally.
• They motivate students to study and revise regularly.
• Without exams, it would be difficult to select candidates for limited university places.
📝 Sample paragraph :
'While exams do cause significant stress, I do not think they should be abolished entirely. Instead, schools should diversify assessment methods, combining written exams with oral presentations, group projects and continuous assessment. This would give every student a fair chance to demonstrate their abilities.'
What does 'dropout rate' mean? Why is it a problem in Senegal?
Correction
The dropout rate is the percentage of students who leave school before completing their studies. In Senegal, it is a serious problem, especially for girls in rural areas, because of poverty, early marriage, long distances to school and the need to work to support the family.

Correction
Vocational training provides practical skills for a specific trade or profession, rather than academic knowledge. Examples: carpentry training, nursing training, IT technician courses, mechanics, tailoring.
